Rita Das of Dhubri wins prestigious award of Best Master Craftsperson

DHUBRI: Rita Das of Dhubri and Proprietor of M/S North East Bibha Handicrafts was conferred the prestigious “Prime Minister of India Award” for the Best Master Craftsperson for her achievement in the field of khadi and Indian handloom textiles by AIWEFA (All India Women’s Education Fund Association) in its inaugural session held at Lady Irwin College, New Delhi recently.

Rita Das was a part of the Assam Association in New Delhi which participated in the North East Expo 2019 organized by AIWEFA.

She has been associated with the production and marketing of jute, water hyacinth, and other products of local artisans since 2008 and giving employment directly to more than 25 women artisans and helping 100 SHGs and individuals who have been exporting their products to various international markets.
