Dibrugarh: To promote the river tourism in Assam, the Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated river Brahmaputra'r Mukuta, the river cruise at the bank of the river Brahmaputra in Dibrugarh. The river cruise was inaugurated near Bogibeel bridge in Dibrugarh on Thursday.

The river cruise, Brahmaputra'r Mukuta was built in one and a half years. The project is an initiative of the ABCD Exploration Company in Dibrugarh. The initiative was further taken forward by two of the local youths, Uday Shankar Mohan and Dhiraj Bikas Gogoi.

The facilities included in the cruise are AC rooms with geyser, attached bathroom or toilets with rooms, kitchen, conference hall and dining hall. The luxurious cruise is a two-storey cruise.

Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal shared pictures through his tweet. He said that the state government is giving special attention to promoting river tourism in the state. He tweeted:

"We are giving special attention towards promoting river tourism in #Assam. Glad to inaugurate a luxurious river cruise vessel 'Brahmaputra'r Mukuta' built by ABCD Exploration Co. in Dibrugarh. This initiative by youths will give a new direction to our tourism sector. @aweassam"

The tourist from different parts of the country as well as the world can enjoy the beauty of various places of Assam, like Majuli, Kaziranga, Tezpur and Guwahati.

One of the directors of the ABCD Exploration Company, Dhiraj Bikas Gogoi said that they have not finalised the itinerary and the tariff yet. However, it is expected that it will be an 11-day package for a trip to Guwahati, Assam.

He further said that they will share the details as soon as their package is finalised.
