Road blockade on NH-37 against death of pregnant woman resorted

DOOMDOOMA: The All Assam Gorkha Students' Union (AAGSU) resorted to road blockade on NH-37 at Uchamati of Doomdooma town for a few hours on Wednesday afternoon to protest against the death of a pregnant woman named Promila Chetri (29) of Phillobari at a private nursing home of Doomdooma town. The protesters demanded an inquiry into the incident and to cancel the license of the doctor concerned as well as of the nursing home. Later, the protesters sent a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia district through the Circle Officer of Doomdooma Revenue Circle.
