BISWANATH CHARIALI: Road Safety Committee, Biswanath on Friday visited various accident-prone sites on the National Highway 15 being constructed by National Highway’s Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) under the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) from Biswanath to Gohpur. According to information, the team visited the highway at Sadharu area of Biswanath Chariali being constructed by TK Engineering. The team also visited several areas of Ratowa, Borgang and Bedeti being constructed by Dhatarwal Construction of Haryana, which is in charge of constructing about 60 km of four laning of the highway from Biswanath to Gohpur.
During the visit, the Road Safety Committee analysed and discussed various accident-prone sites in the National Highway 15 and suggested making arrangements for safe road protection such as setting up of signage, rumble strip, delineator etc.
Apart from this, it also gave necessary directions to the National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited for the construction of a new link road to the railway station at Bedeti which is currently closed for the construction of four laning of the National Highway.
The Road Safety Committee was comprised of Additional Deputy Commissioner and in-charge Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Biswanath Jay Shibani, Superintendent of Police, Biswanath Subhashish Baruah, Member Secretary of the Road Safety Committee and Executive Engineer of Biswanath District Regional Road Division, Lok Nirman Bibhag, Samant Sharma, member Krishnakanta Chetia and others.
