Robber apprehended by Army in Kakopathar

TINSUKIA: The Army apprehended a notorious robber on Wednesday from Kakopathar involved in several cases of broad daylight robbery reported in recent times in the greater Doomdooma area.

The robber has been identified as Kukul Moran alias Raju of Kordoiguri Kerani Gaon under Bagjan PS. He along with few of his accomplices looted cash from the employees of microfinance companies and created terror. The police were on the lookout for the gang and registered a number of cases at Doomdooma, Talap, Kakopathar and Bagjan against them. According to reports, the jawans of 14 Assam Regiment based at Kakopathar conducted search operation based on specific input at a number of places at Kakopathar and nabbed the dacoit who was later handed over to the police. The police are expected to get further information on interrogation.
