Robbers kill woman, loot money & Jewellery from her residence in Sonitpur district

Tezpur: A 30-year-old woman, Rupa Devi was allegedly killed by robbers at her residence at Parua under Tezpur Police station in Sonitpur district.

The incident took place in Parua village near the Kali Mandir area under Sardar Police Station in the early hours on Wednesday. Robbers broke into Ajit Pandit’s residence and killed his wife Rupa Devi and took away Rs 3 lakh cash along with jewelry, sources said.

A case of murder and robbery has been registered at Tezpur PS and further investigation is underway, police officials said.
