Guwahati: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed charge sheets against four accused persons who were found to be involvement in trafficking Rohingya and Bangladeshi nationals.

The NIA filed the charge sheet before the NIA Special Court, Assam, Guwahati, against the four accused. The accused four have been identified as Md. Sahab Uddin alias Mullah alias Rahim; Aman Ullah; Md Abdul Rahim; and Saidul Alam under Sections 120B, 370 (3) (5), 468, 471 of IPC and sections 14 (A) (b), 14 (C) of Foreigners Act, 1946.

"Investigation has revealed that the accused persons were involved in organised human trafficking of Rohingya and Bangladeshi men, women and minor children in to India through inducement by offers of jobs and marriage," said NIA.

Sources said that the accused persons have arranged transportation, accommodation and fake documents etc. for the trafficked Rohingya and Bangladeshi persons.

The case had arisen out of GRPS (Government Railway Police Station) Guwahati FIR (First information Report), 67/2021, relating to the trafficking of Bangladeshis or Rohingyas for the purpose of exploitation by Sahab Uddin alias Mullah alias Rohim and his accomplices. Police sources informed that investigation has revealed that the accused persons were involved in the organised human trafficking of Rohingya and Bangladeshi men, women and minor children into India. The modus operandi of the human-trafficking cartel is to induce the gullible clients by offers of jobs and marriage.
