Rs. 17,18,023 cash seized in last 48 hours in Tezpur

TEZPUR: A total of Rs. 17,18,023 cash was seized in the last 48 hours by various SSTs and FSTs which have been deputed all over Tezpur Election District to check illegal flow of cash and goods during the electioneering phase.

The amount was seized during checking from 13 separate locations. Out of this, Rs.94,923 was seized under Dhekiajuli LAC, Rs. 4,27,270 was seized in Barchalla LAC and Rs. 2,56,220 was seized in Tezpur LAC. While another Rs. 7,51,110 was seized from Rangapara LAC, an amount of Rs. 1,88,500 was seized from Sootea LAC. Since the Model Code of Conduct came into force, a total amount of Rs.42,25,313 has been seized by Flying Squads and Static Surveillance Teams from various parts of Tezpur Election District.
