RT-PCR tests initiated by health department begin for teachers in Jamugurihat

JAMUGURIHAT: With the possibility of educational institutions re-opening from September 1, the process for RT-PCR test for teachers has been initiated by the health department in collaboration with the education department. In Jamugurihat, the health department started the process of RT-PCR from August 24. The education and health departments of Jamugurihat have arranged a permanent centre for swab collection at Omeo Bhavan inside the premises of Jamuguri HS School. The swab samples of more than 700 teachers, including those of college, higher secondary schools, high schools, ME and MV schools and LPS under Naduar Education Block, will be covered during this drive from August 24 to August 28. Teachers have been urged to turn up for their respective tests as per the circular given. Further, the health department has appealed to the teachers to go for home quarantine till the report of their swab test comes. The response from teachers is good, said Dr Haren Saikia, senior medical officer of Jamuguri Subsidiary Hospital.
