Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad staged protest against Citizenship Bill in Assam

Guwahati: The Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad on Wednesday staged a statewide protest against the much-debated Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad also claimed that the sacrifices of the 855 martyrs’ of the Assam Movement. Also, the implementing the bill would ruin the clause 5 of the Assam Accord, the Association claimed today.

Under the aegis of Parishad leadership led by Fakruddin Ahmed, Anti-CAB protesters of the organization had staged a massive protest today in Guwahati.

Similarly, the body also staged a widespread protest today across several parts of the state.

Speaking to the media, General Secretary of Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad, Fakruddin Ahmed criticized the BJP-led government for taking attempt to implement the much debated Citizenship Bill for political benefits.

The Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad also said that the steps taken by the PM Modi-led BJP government would paralyze the identity of the indigenous people of the state socially, economically and educationally.

“Our Parishad will never allow Assam to bear the burden of the refugees. If the citizenship bill, 2016 becomes law Assam will become another Tripura,” added Fakruddin Ahmed in a press statement.

The worker's cum activists of Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad raised various slogans against the Central Government as well as the Sarbananda Sonowal-led Assam Government, thus threatening them of the consequences of the implementation of the Bill.
