BAKSA: Dwijen Kumar Das, a young poetry writer of Tamulpur in Baksa district has been awarded with the Sahitya Akademi Yuba Award - 2020 for his book Megh Ghora.
Dwijen Kumar Das is a young postgraduate and son of Harinarayan Das and Jamini Das. He was born at Kalakuchi village under Tamulpur subdivision in Baksa district. Since his childhood he wrote many poems which were published in various leading Assamese magazines.
He wrote the book Megh Ghora which took at least 10 years and which was published by Purbayon Prakasan in 2018. While talking to The Sentinel, he said, "I am so happy today. Assamese language is the language of my heart. I thank my Aai (mother). Getting this award is an honour. It has made me more responsible and disciplined."
Dwijen Kumar Das is a teacher in Barbelbari High School who has written another book titled Ukhah Thake Mane, O Mone Tora.
