GOALPARA: Sainik School, Goalpara celebrated its 57th Raising Day on Thursday. The day commenced with an online opening address by Captain (Indian Navy) A. Muthuraman, the Principal. He greeted the entire SSG community on the auspicious occasion and urged them to introspect on their shortcomings and to work harder to take the school to further heights of glory and contentment.

In his address, the chief guest, Major General Ananta Bhuyan, SM, ADG, NCC, NER and an alumnus, fondly recollected the days he spent in his alma mater and extended his compliments to all the cadets and staff. The General Officer urged the cadets to remain focused on the primary goal of the school and exhorted them to develop leadership qualities and walk the extra mile to prepare themselves well for entry into Indian Defense Services as Officers. He further encouraged the faculty members to be role models and put in their best efforts for wholesome growth of the cadets. The 57th Raising Day celebrations included a plethora of activities like various fun games for staff and families and a talent-cum-cultural show.

The school will admit girls in Class VI from the academic Ssession 2021-22 and the move is expected to provide talented girls of the State with a new vista for their future career.
