Saksham Cycle Day Flagged Off By Chief Executive of OIL, BP Sarma

Dibrugarh: Saksham Cycle Day, organized by Oil India Ltd to sensitize the masses on the need to cycle for better health, environment and fuel conservation, was flagged off by Resident Chief Executive of OIL, BP Sarma, in presence of celebrity guest Krishna Dekaraja Chetry, a well-known international badminton player from OIL, Duliajan, on Sunday from Nehru Maidan, Duliajan in the OIL township.

The cycle rally was led by the members of Duliajan Cycling Club followed by various participants from nearby schools, employees from OIL, CISF, sanitation workers, local sports and cultural groups and OIL’s CSR beneficiaries from nearby self-help groups. The mass cycle rally received an overwhelming response with the participation of over 600 cyclists. As per the directive of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), in association with Oil India Ltd and other petroleum companies of the country, will be observing a month-long programme ‘SAKSHAM -2019’ to sensitize citizens on the acute need for petroleum conservation.
