Sale and purchase of lali gur prohibited in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: District Magistrate Biswajit Pegu, by an order issued on Thursday, has prohibited sale and purchase of lali gur (molasses), an ingredient for preparing illicit liquor/sulai, by promulgating section 144 of Cr. PC in the entire district.

The prohibition will be effected in the entire district with immediate effect and it will remain until further order is issued. Violation of this order by any individual is punishable under section 188 of IPC.
