Haflong: Rtn. Samuel Changsan took charge as the new president of Rotary Club of Haflong Hills during the installation ceremony held at a Haflong District Library Auditorium on Saturday.

There were two chief guests for the occasion. Ranu Langthasa, chairperson of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, was invited as a non-Rotarian chief guest and Rtn Subhasish Chaterrjee from Hyderabad, who is District Governor Elect (DGE), attended the programme as the Rotarian member chief guest. Both the chief guests spoke at length about the outstanding activities undertaken by this club which is merely in its third year of existence.

Outgoing president Rtn. Kulendra Daulagupu, who has a remarkable record to have done several services and noteworthy service projects along with his team in the past year, handed over the badge to the new president, Rtn. Samuel Changsan in presence of outgoing secretary Rtn. Kaushik Kachari and other dignitaries. The new board for 2019 – 2020 was installed with Rtn. Sanjita Bathari as secretary of Rotary Club of Haflong Hills.

Outgoing secretary Rtn. Kaushik Kachari gave a power-point presentation highlighting the service activities of the past year and the new board members were introduced by the new president of the club. The club’s souvenir Incipere was also released during the programme. The programme was followed by a music concert.
