Sand and timber-laden two trucks seized in Jorhat

JORHAT: A team of Jorhat divisional forest officials led by Suman Kaur, the divisional forest officer, seized two trucks, one laden with sand while another with timber. The trucks did not have valid documents and were coming from Golaghat to Jorhat when forest officials intercepted both the vehicles at Goromur and Kachogoral, said sources. In November, a total of 17 sand-laden trucks without valid documents were intercepted by Jorhat Police and handed over to the Forest Department in Titabor subdivisional area, said Biken Pegu, a forest official from Titabor circle here.
