COVID-19 Sanitization Programme in Tea Estates of Sonitpur

TEZPUR: Sonitpur district administration started sanitization programme in the labour lines of tea estates of Sonitpur district on Monday.

Dr Pradip Kumar Lahkar, MIP Tezpur, took the initiative and started sanitization programmes starting from Noorbari Tea Estate. Dr Lahkar also arranged an awareness meeting on COVID-19 on Monday and Tezpur MLA Prithiraj Rabha attended the meeting as chief guest and inaugurated the sanitization programme at Noorbari TE. Prithiraj Rabha requested the workers to take all precautions against COVID-19 and explained in details about government support to COVID patients.

Dr Pradip Kumar Lahkar directed all to follow the latest COVID SOP for tea estates strictly. Dr Lahkar also explained the details about government help to tea gardens to maintain COVID Care Centre and government support to treat COVID patients of tea garden area. He further requested to form a help desk with the help of local educated youths and workers' union for registration for vaccination and to create awareness about the COVID pandemic. He also requested all garden management to extend their cooperation to create extensive mass awareness in order to make the vaccination drive successful.
