Eminent personalities from reputed universities and institutions shared their views on the burning issues related to Indian rural economy.

The session began with the welcome address by Principal of Sapatgram College, Dr. R. P. Singh, followed by the inaugural speech presented by Prof. Jogen Ch. Kalita, Professor of Zoology and former Director, UGC-HRD Centre, Gauhati University.

In his inaugural speech, Prof. Kalita stressed the necessity of sustainability along with growth of economy. Prof. Lopomudra Banarjee, Faculty, Bennington College, Vermont, USA, further carried the discussion and highlighted how wages are to be determined in agriculture under pandemic productivity.
