Sarbananda Sonawal rushing back to Guwahati after Former CM Tarun Gogoi's health deteriorates

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is rushing to Guwahati from Dibrugarh after getting the health update regarding deteriorating condition of former Assam Chief Tarun Gogoi'. Sonowal cancelled all his programmes in Dibrugarh.

CM informed through a twitter: Flying back to Guwahati from Dibrugarh after cancelling my programmes midway to be on the side of respected Tarun Gogoi da & his family as the former CM's health deteriorates. He has always been a father figure to me. I join millions in praying for his recovery. @GauravGogoiAsm

Tarun Gogoi is admitted at GMCH. His condition deteriorated on Monday morning after the dialysis yesterday. Assam Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the veteran leader this morning and said that multi-organ failure has set in. Doctors are doing their best but this is the time prayers are needed.

The veteran's leader's daughter has reached from the US and had visited her father in the hospital.

Several political leaders across party lines and artistes like Zubeen Garg have visited the leader.

Prayers are being held across Assam for speedy recovery of the politician who is respected and loved by all.

Gaurav Gogoi, Congress MP from Koliabor and son of Tarun Gogoi said that his father is listening to Bhupen Hazarika's song, borgeet and naam (holy songs and hymns) through headphone.
