TINSUKIA: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal dedicated services of Bipad Bondhu Bahini, an initiative of Fire and Emergency Services to the people of Assam at 2nd AP Battalion Makum on Thursday. Addressing the concluding ceremony of a 10-day special capsule course on Disaster Management in the presence of volunteers of Bipad Bondhu Bahini and public, Sonowal said that the trained volunteers so created would assist general public at the time of disaster but equally they must also participate and create awareness in cleanliness, swachh Bharat programme adding further that a clean mind, clean thinking, and clean environment can establish a stable society.
He also distributed certificates to the volunteers of Bipad Bondhu Bahini. The volunteers also presented an impressive mock drill on disaster mitigation at the beginning of the programme. While Special Director General of Police-cum-Director Fire and Emergency Services Assam Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta welcomed the guests and laid the objectives of the programme, Deputy Director Fire and Emergency Services Jayashree Khersa extended the vote of thanks.
The dignitaries present in the programme were Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Rameswar Teli, Commandant 2nd AP Bn Singharam Mili, DIG Prasanta Kumar Bhuyan besides legislators Sanjay Kishan (Tinsukia), Suren Phukan (Digboi), Bhaskar Sharma (Margherita), Tarash Gowalla (Duliajan), Bolin Chetia (Sadiya), Rituparna Baruah (Lahowal) among others.
