School managing committees and mothers' groups felicitated in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: Block-level felicitation programme was held for the good performing School Managing Committees (SMC) and Mothers Groups (MG) in the elementary schools under Hapjan and Margherita Block on Wednesday.

It was an effort to encourage the community organizations to participate in the school development process by dint of their contribution in the field of enhancing quality education, proper infrastructure, safety and child-friendly environment in the schools.

Altogether 41 SMCs and MGs were felicitated under Hapjan Block and 24 under Margherita on the occasion held at Makum GBC HS School and Aagbondha LP School respectively. The programme was attended by Binti Sarma, DEEO-cum-DMC, Tridib Sarma Tamuly, Ramen Baraik, other dignitaries, panchayat members from Margherita Block, academicians, social activists and block-level officials from Samagra Shiksha. The participants included presidents, member secretaries and one or two members from the selected SMCs and MGs from the respective block areas. The speakers applauded the invitee members for their incredible effort to bring visible change in the school environment.
