DOOMDOOMA: After a long gap of about eight months, the educational institutions in Doomdooma and adjoining areas reopened on Monday. The students were seen coming to schools by strictly observing COVID-19 protocol and the authorities concerned of the educational institutions too appeared to take all possible measures to sanitize the classrooms and the school premises. As per government guidelines, the classes willbe initially held for three days per week i.e. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and the duration of the classes will be for four hours from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm.

As per report, in Kakapather area also, about 12 km away from here, the schools reopened on Monday. The students appeared to be happy after confinement in their houses for such a long period of time. However, the attendance was comparatively thin and it might require some more time before things become normal. One major factor responsible for this development is road communication. A major chunk of vehicular traffic is still off the road and the rail communication is yet to be resumed in the whole district.

DONKAMUKAM: Finally after much speculation, both private and government schools reopened in West KarbiAnglong on Monday for students from Classes VI to XII under strict COVID-19 guidelines. Online education will continue for students who prefer to attend online classes. The students were seen wearing masks or carrying sanitizers along with them. However, parents were confused seeing another Central Government notification directing schools to remain closed till November 30.
