TINSUKIA: The Aryabhatta Science Centre (ASC) of Itakhuli Block, in association with South Tinsukia branch and Bahadur sub-branch of Assam Tea Tribes Students' Association (ATTSA), organized a science awareness and counseling programme at Mahakali Grant High School in Bahadur Chariali on Saturday.
Dr Jogen Chandra Kalita of Gauhati University and Dr Balendra Kr Das, Director (Administration), USTM, Meghalaya, were present as invited speakers. Attended by more than 500 students from nearby schools, the programme was moderated jointly by Robin Kurmi and Diganta Bhajani, coordinator of Itakhuli block and district coordinator of ASC.
In their deliberations, Dr Kalita and Dr Das presented inspirational examples which were appreciated by students. Impressed by the school environment and presence of such a large number of students, the speakers called upon students to look for the best to achieve desirable results. They instructed students to follow certain parameters in their day-to-day life and advised them not to detach themselves from their original roots. The programme witnessed a lively interaction with the students.
