Science Day observed on birth anniversary of CV Raman

Naharkotia: The socio-cultural development centre of Namrup College observed Science Day under its aegis recently to commemorate the birth anniversary of CV Raman. Model, poster and project-making competitions were held among the students of nearby schools of the area. 41 groups participated in these competitions. A science exhibition was held by the science department students of the college. School students visited the science laboratories after the competitions.

The prize distribution function was presided over by Atul Gogoi, Principal I/c. Objective of the meeting was explained by Rijumani Das, secretary SCDC, and welcome address was delivered by B C Gogoi, Vice-Principal of the college. The significance of observation of Science Day was elucidated by Dr Ranjana Bordoloi and a speech was delivered on the theme ‘Science for the people and the people for science’ by Utpala Baruah, Associate Professor of Physics.
