Goalpara: State Irrigation Minister Ashok Singhal on Friday symbolically distributed scooties in Goalpara town under the Pragyan Bharati scheme to few selected meritorious students who had excelled in the last HS exam.
Addressing the event, the minister appealed to the students to follow the three steps to succeed, these are devotion, dedication and discipline which he fondly termed as the three 'D' theory.
"There is a purpose of the government to give away the award after such a great man like Dr Banikanta Kakati and the purpose is to encourage the students of the State to follow his life, achievement and philosophy and shape their own life after him and bring laurels to themselves and the State as well," stated the minister.
By congratulating the achiever community, Singhal said, "Every student has his own natural talents and to bring out these inherent talents to reality they should strive with dedication, devotion and discipline."
Tankeswar Rabha, chief executive member of the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council, Dr Subhash Barman, principal of Goalpara College, also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the works of the government as well focused on the life of Dr Banikanta Kakati.
Earlier, Khanindra Choudhury, Deputy Commissioner, gave the inaugural speech through which he congratulated the students on their success and encouraged them further to achieve their goals.
Among those dignitaries who also attended the function were Dr Prakash Kashyap, Dipak Nath, Mahananda Pathak, Rahim Zibran, Rajesh Prasad, Bhriguranjan Rabha and Tinamoni Doimary.
