SEBA to Declare Class 10 Results Before CBSE: Ranoj Pegu
GUWAHATI: The Education Minister of Assam, Ranoj Pegu declared on Monday that the state board will declare the class ten results ahead of the central board this year.
The Board of Secondary Education of Assam (SEBA) came under tremendous pressure from various circles recently for their flaws in the conduct of the class ten examinations. The leakage of question papers and the postponement of these examinations led to several parties including student associations and political bodies demaning the removal of the education minister as well as key officials of SEBA.
“Our results will be announced before CBSE. I won’t be able to announce the date,” Ranoj Pegu said. It remains to see if the education department of the state can deliver the results in the due time. Also, the correctness of the results is another question that will be answered in due time.
Officials with SEBA have however mentioned that the board has sourced a new software which will be used to maintan the marks after the evaluation of the scripts is done and this is expected to help the board in the early declaration of results. The original timeline for the release of the results was the beginning of May, but it remains to see how much delay will be caused by the postponement of the two question papers.
The officials also mentioned that the new software is aimed to record the marks immediately after the evaluation and scrutinisation of the scripts in various districts. This reduces the amount of paperwork involved in the result declaration process and thus decreases the time needed.
Last year the state board declared the class ten results in the first week of June. They were planning to move the schedule up this year by a month if the postponement had not taken place.
