Sec 144 CrPC promulgated in Dibrugarh district

DIBRUGARH: To ensure peace and social harmony, to protect life and properties of general people and to avoid any untoward incidents in Dibrugarh district, the District Magistrate, Pallav Gopal Jha promulgated section 144 under Cr. P.C here that prohibits collection of any form of donation by any individual or organizations, extortion by threat or force on roadside or from any organizations in the district.

The order remains in force in the district till the next order is issued. Violation of the order in any form is punishable under section 188 of Indian Penal Code.
