Second flood preparedness meeting held in Bongaigaon

BONGAIGAON: The second meeting of flood preparedness was held by the District Disaster Management Authority, Bongaigaon on Thursday in the conference hall of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Bongaigaon. The meeting was presided over by Nabadeep Pathak, the Deputy Commissioner.

Various issues of flood managements like identification of relief camps, meeting of Circle-level Task Force, mock drills, requirement for SDRF Team, stock of boats, lifebuoys and life jackets, assessments for requirements of rice and wheat bran, identification of vulnerable areas, construction of embankments, repairing of damaged roads, requirements of nutritious food for women and children in the probable relief camps were discussed in the second flood preparedness meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the line departments to work out flood management in the monsoon season so that damage and loss can be reduced. Nadira Jesmine, Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, Bongaigaon, Dhrubjyoti Das, the District Development Commissioner, other officers and all heads of line departments were present in the meeting.
