Tezpur: The second level randomization of polling personnel was carried out on Friday at the Conference Hall of the National Informatics Centre located at the Deputy Commissioner’s office here in the presence of General Observer Pabitra Mandal, Returning Officer and CEO, Zilla Parishad Diganta Baishya, Addl Deputy Commissioner Kulen Sarma, District Informatics Officer Anup Baruah, Addl DIO Jayanta Kumar Nath, Assistant Commissioner Namrata Das and other officials of the NIC.

During the process, all polling personnel assembled into groups of four, including Presiding Officer, First Polling Officer, Second Polling Officer and Third Polling Officer, for all the 197 polling stations of Rangapara LAC. An additional 20 per cent, i.e., 39 such groups have been kept in reserve taking the total number of polling personnel to 944.

The district administration had held the first round of training for all polling personnel from September 30 to October 3 last, and has now begun the second round of training for all polling personnel where they are being given hands on training on the use of EVM and VVPAT machines. The training for micro-observers will be held on October 12 along with the training on commissioning. A training for strong room supervisors and assistants, counting supervisors and assistants, transit officers, accounting officers, sealing personnel, etc will be held on October 14. A combined training for both Police and Civil Sector and Zonal officers will be conducted on October 15 while group trainings of all polling personnel have been scheduled for October 16 and 17 next.
