DHUBRI: Section 144 CrPC was imposed in Dhubri district by the District Magistrate Anant Lal Gyani on Sunday, prohibiting assembly of more than four persons in public places apprehending spread of coronavirus. The promulgation of Sec 144 CrPC also completely prohibits holding meetings, taking out rallies and all other activities in public places. This order, however, exempts the movement of army, paramilitary force, police and all the medical officials and staff engage in emergency duty.

Apart from them, people engaged in medical shops, home delivery of food, wholesalers and those dealing in retailing business of essential commodities and customers going to buy them, are also exempted from the purview of the prohibition, stated the press release issued by Dhubri District Information and Public Relation Officer.

Dhubri Municipal Board and Gauripur Town Committee, in collaboration with Dhubri district administration, distributing food items free of cost among the poor and people in need of food.

Meanwhile, Dhubri district unit BJP president Dr. Debamoy Sanyal, accompanied by party workers, visited Dhubri Civil Hospital and inspected isolation wards there and held a review meeting with officials.
