In view of number of deaths due to road accidents in the State wherein many people have lost their lives, Dhubri District Magistrate promulgated Section 144 CrPC to streamline the vehicular traffic movement on roads.

DHUBRI : In view of number of deaths due to road accidents in the State wherein many people have lost their lives, Dhubri District Magistrate promulgated Section 144 CrPC to streamline the vehicular traffic movement on roads. In the order issued, District Magistrate has issued several restrictions under Section 144 of the Indian Penal Code applicable to the entire Dhubri district as well as Bilasipara sub-division to ensure the safety and security of the people. Accordingly, e-rickshaws are banned from operating on the national highways from 5 pm to 8 am. Dumpers and tractors are banned from running on NHs and state roads from 5 pm to 7 am. Parking of any type of vehicle on NHs and in front of dhabas, hotels and resorts along state roads is strictly prohibited.
