To check gathering of huge shoppers at Sunday vegetable market in Tinsukia town appears to be a big challenge for the district administration even as the Prime Minister had appealed nationwide citizen to observe ‘Janata Curfew’ on next Sunday March 22. The vendors including a large number of women from distant places of the district like Sadiya, Dholla, Naharkatiya Sachoni, Golaghat, Guijan, Barekuri, Dayun in Arunachal Pradesh bring their agricultural produce and sell on the lane and by-lane of GNB Road, College Road extending to Civil Hospital. These vendors usually load their goods during midnight and reach Tinsukia in wee hours. If at all to make Janata Curfew a successful endeavour to check mass contamination of COVID-19 virus, it is essential to check them at source, observed a regular visitor of the Sunday market.
