BONGAIGAON: Dr M S Lakshmi Priya, Deputy Commissioner of Bongaigaon, flagged off dispatch of 5,000 good quality seedless lemons to Siliguri produced by farmers of village Kamarpara from New Bongaigaon Railway station on Friday. The dispatch was arranged as joint venture by Kujia Valley Group, NGO Inner Wheel under the guidance of the district administration of Bongaigaon.

"Farmers are now very interested in increasing their production by the act of transportation of their products to other States," the DC said.

The Deputy Commissioner of Bongaigaon emphasized crop promotion and export of local products to other States. The progressive farmers were encouraged and with the help of the Agriculture department of Bongaigaon, on Friday seedless lemons were exported to Siliguri of West Bengal. District Agriculture Officer Sanjay Sengupta and progressive farmers were present in the flagging off programme.
