DHUBRI: The Dhubri town unit of Seemanta Chetana Mancha, Purvottar felicitated the workers responsible for maintaining cleanliness in municipality areas of Dhubri town and Jhagrarpar recently. Safai karmis of the 16 wards of Dhubri town were felicitated by the members of the Mancha's 16 town units and one gaon samiti with flowers, packets of food and bottles of water.
Coordinator of All India Simanta Chetana Mancha, Pradeepan Ji, president of North East Simanta Chetan Manch, Dr Pratima Neogi, president of Dhubri Nagar, Udayan Chakravorty and RSS Dhubri Nagar Parcharak, Dabrata Pathak also took part in the programme.
In this lockdown, Dhubri district unit of Simanta Chetana Manch, Purbattar also distributed 7,000 dry food packets containing essentials commodities among the needy villagers living in the Indo-Bangladesh border of Dhubri district of Assam and West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya.
Coordinator of All India Simanta Chetana Mancha, Pradipan Ji said that the Manch had come out with a planned manner to reach out to needy villagers living in the border. Dhubri district unit publicity secretary of the Manch, Dipankar Mazumdar said that a good number of hand sanitizer bottles were sent by the State Forest and Excise Minister, Parimal Suklabaidya to the Manch in April, which too were distributed among the corona warriors and others.
"Not only this, Manch has recently launched an online facility for the ailing persons who are unable to consult physicians in this lockdown. Many ailing people have been benefitted this way," Mazumdar added.
