DHUBRI: In protest against China's aggression on Indian soil and the killing of 20 Indian soldiers, a large number of people under the banner of Dhubri Nagar (town) unit of Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purbottar took out a candlelight rally on Wednesday with an appeal to boycott 'Made in China' products. The rally culminated at Netaji More (Panchmore).
Activists of the Manch and people also paid tribute to valiant soldiers who were martyred and took a pledge that their sacrifice for protecting national unity and integrity in the Indo-China border in Ladakh region would not go in vain.
The programme was presided over by the president of Dhubri town unit of the Manch, Udayan Chakraborty. In his speech, Chakraborty said that two days after the violent confrontation between Indian and Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh, the nation had erupted with anti-China protests. "We strongly protest China's repeated action of aggression and intrusion in Indian soil," he said.
