BISWANATH CHARIALI: A two-day long self-defence camp on martial arts was organized from September 6 to September 7 here for the self-defence of young girls and women.

Four women Assam Police personnel from the Veerangana Battalion imparted training in the camp held at Biswanath Chariali Stadium under the initiative of Biswanath District Police. Around 50 young girls and women from across the district, including the students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Biswanath, underwent the training.

The training camp was formally inaugurated by Biswanath Superintendent of Police Naveen Singh while Additional Superintendent of Police Kulendra Nath Deka, Deputy Superintendent of Police Jayanta Baruah and others were present on the occasion. The young girls and women have been trained to protect themselves when they are in danger.
