Self-styled god man seeking sexual favours from married woman beaten up in Duliajan

Duliajan: A self-styled godman was beaten up by the public at Kamini Tea Estate in Duliajan under Dibrugarh District.

As per reports, the self-styled godman identified as Mohammad Khan was residing at the residence of one Krishna Pradhan at Kamini Tea Estate from past one week on the pretext of shooing away evils from their house.

Later, the notorious self-styled godman made an attempt to lure Krishna Pradhan's wife for sexual favours which she vehemently denied and informed the matter to her husband.

The incident had sparked sensation in the area.

Police forces later reached the spot and brought down the situation under control.

Meanwhile, the police team had taken the notorious baba (self-styled godman) under police custody.

It may be mentioned that earlier a self-styled Godman who allegedly made an attempt to rape a woman in Guwahati’s Patharquary area was arrested by Noonmati Police in the month of August.

The accused identified as Jurul Haque alias Ronga Baba frequently changed his name to trick his followers on the pretext of shooing away evils and curing diseases.

It is quite interesting to know the fact that the accused identified himself as a Muslim priest among Muslim majority people and as a Hindu in the Hindu majority areas.

As per the complaint lodged by the accuser, the self-styled Godman forged a close relationship with the victim’s family in Patharquary on the pretext of curing diseases. Later, Ronga Baba allegedly attempted to outrage the modesty of the woman in order to cure her diseases.
