LAKHIMPUR: The Alumni Association of North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous), a reputed higher educational institution of the State, has decided to organize a crucial seminar on the National Education Policy- 2020 (NEP-2020) in the month of November. The seminar will be held by covering the high school level teachers in a view to exploring the core of the newly adapted education policy.
This decision was taken in a meeting of the Alumni Association of the college held on Monday afternoon. The meeting commenced with Uday Sankar Hazarika, the president of the association, a prominent social activist, poet of Lakhimpur. Secretary Diganta Hatibaruah explained the objectives of the meeting. Over fifty alumni of the college were present in the meeting. They presented their strategic view on alumni's responsibility to render their service to the college for its further enhancement.
In addition to taking decision of holding the seminar, the meeting decided to set up memorabilia of the former principals of the college in the 'Ranghar', the auditorium of the college. Further decision was taken to accord honour and felicitation to the departments of the college, which have already introduced MA, MSc, M. Phil and Ph.D courses.
Notably, Assamese, Education, Political Science, English, Mass Communication, Chemistry, Electronic and Physics, Botany and Zoology Departments have already launched MA and MSc courses in the college. In addition, Assamese and Political Science Departments have provided the M. Phil course for the academic aspirants. The meeting also decided to hold an interactive programme among the alumni of the college in future.
