DIBRUGARH: The third phase of COVID vaccination kicked off on Monday at Assam Medical College and Hospital. All total 140 citizens aged 60 years or more, including former president of Axam Xahitya Xabha, Dr. Nagen Saikia, former Vice- Chancellor of Dibrugarh University and Shankardev University, Dr Kandarpa Kumar Deka, Prof Aparna Mahanta, Dr Aradhana Kotoky, Principal of DHSK College, Dr Sashi Kanta Saikia, former Principal of DHSK Commerce College, Dr Kalpana Khound, Dr Kalyan Khound, former Prof of AMC&H, Dr. TC Saikia, mother of Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha, Dr Karabi Deka Hazarika, DTO, Sanjib Hazarika, and senior journalist I.Ahmed were vaccinated on Monday under the supervision of Principal of AMC&H, Dr Sanjeeb Kakoty, Head of SPM Department, Dr Tulika Goswami Mahanta, Associate Professor of Anesthesia Department Dr. Karuna Kumar Das and Nodal Officer, Angshuman Chetia.

The next booster dose will be provided in the first week of April, just after the ensuing assembly election and Holi, slated to be held on March 27 and March 28 respectively. Senior citizens latter expressed their satisfaction over the way the AMC&H authority had conducted the vaccination programme properly.
