Sensitization programme on drug abuse & child marriage organized at Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: A sensitization programme on drugs, alcoholic substance, abuse and ill-effect of early marriage was organized by the Indo Global Social Service Society (NGO) among the students and youths at Simbargaon High School in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday.

The sensitization programme aims to create awareness against the use of drugs and alcohol in the society, especially among the students and youths, and also to stop child marriage which is on the rise. The resource persons of the programme, Sristi Brahma, Dulal Basumatary and Ajit Ali Mandal spoke at length about the harmful effects of drugs and called all to join hands in fighting the menace which was destroying the society, especially the youths. They also spoke about the evil effects of child marriage. They said that society should be strict and keep vigil on anti-social elements so that the upcoming generation could be free from social evils.
