Series of programmes on death anniversary of Dr Bhupen Hazarika on November 5

DHUBRI: Dhubri district administration and Rajiv Gandhi Children Park Management Committee, in association with Dhubri Lions Club, Kalibari Management Committee and Humanity and Bibekalam Group have chalked out a series of programmes on the occasion of the death anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Dr Bhupen Hazarika on November 5.

The programmes chalked out for the day include floral tribute at the bust of the maestro at Golap Udyan, Bhupendra Sangeet Competition at District Library, Dhubri and a drawing competition amongst the students of Dhubri at Rajiv Gandhi Children Park. Blood donation and cultural programme will also be held.

President of Rajiv Gandhi Children Park, Rajib Sarma informed that an elaborate programme was being prepared by the associate group for observing the death anniversary in a befitting manner. “We appeal to the people of the district and Dhubri town in particular to participate in the programme and to make it successful,” Sarma. In the meantime, the maestro’s brother, Samar Hazarika and his son, Dawor Hazarika have consented to attend the programme, said Sarma.a press release.
