DHEKIAJULI: On Friday, the Dhekiajuli subdivisional health department conducted a Rapid Antigen Test at the UCO Bank Dhekiajuli branch. Out of 10 employees of the Dhekiajuli branch of UCO Bank, seven tested COVID-19 positive. The health department immediately sent the seven persons to the COVID-19 Centre of Tezpur Medical College and Hospital. Thereafter, the branch office was shut down for an indefinite period. When contacted, Branch Manager Apurba Mahanta said that as seven out of 10 bank employees tested positive, he would wait for instruction from the health department as well as the UCO Bank head office for reopening the bank.

The UCO Bank Dhekiajuli branch office has been sealed and declared containment zone. The RAT was conducted on Friday when one of the employees fell ill during working hours and he informed the Branch Manager. The Branch Manager immediately contacted the SDM &O, Dhekiajuli Primary Health Centre, Dr Anuradha Baruah for RAT. Dr Anuradha Baruah sent a medical team to the bank. Some other people also went for RAT at the UCO Bank Dhekiajuli branch and out of them, seven people tested positive.
