TINSUKIA: The urn containing ashes of former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will reach Thana Chariali, Tinsukia at 8 am on December 10. The Tinsukia District Congress Committee will start a 'Shanti Sadhbhavana Yatra' along with the ashes to Chapakhowa Mukoli Manch at Sadiya where it will be kept for people to pay their last respects before immersion with religious rituals at zero point on the southern bank of River Brahmaputra.

In a press meet at Congress Bhavan, Tinsukia on Tuesday, district president Jayanta Kalita informed that Gaurav Gogoi, MP and son of Tarun Gogoi, would lead the Shanti SadhbhavanaYatra accompanied by the leader of Opposition, Debabrata Saikia, former Union Minister Paban Singh Ghatowar, MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed and other senior leaders. An all religious prayer and smriti charan sabha have been arranged at Chapakhowa. The Shanti Sadhbhavana Yatra en-route will halt at Makum, Borhapjan, Rupai Siding and Dholla Goan Tinali for people to pay homage before reaching Chapakhowa at 11 am, said Kalita.
