Sheena Bora Murder Case: Guwahati Airport Submits Sealed Envelope To CBI Court In Mumbai

GUWAHATI: As Sheena Bora murder case gets a whole new twist, the airport authority of Guwahati has handed over an envelope regarding the same, to the special CBI court in Mumbai.

Reverting back to the notice ordered by the special CBI court, Guwahati airport has put forward a CCTV footage in relation to the murder mystery. The CBI court has decided to unseal the package on 2nd of March, 2023. 

Apart from the extracted CCTV footage, the concerned authorities have also sent the list of passengers, who travelled on that particular day. However, as per the CBI, Sheena Bora is dead based on varied scientific evidence. 

A few days back, Indrani Mukherjee, mother Sheena Bora and also the prime accused of the murder case alleged that Sheena Bora is alive. Indrani Mukherjee claimed that, her lawyer spotted Sheena at Guwahati Airport. 

Indrani Mukherjee moved and appealed to the CBI body in order to extract the CCTV footage and passenger detailed list of Guwahati airport for the date 5th of January, Thursday. Mukherjee asserted that her lawyer saw a lady with extreme resemblance with her daughter Sheena. 

Furthermore, she prepared an affidavit and submitted it in the CBI court. As per the affidavit submitted, the episode took place at around 5:30am to 6am. Indrani Mukherjee also came in contact with the airport authorities and CISF, and urged them to provide her with the CCTV footage of the mentioned date. 

Back in December 2021, Indrani Mukherjee appealed CBI investigation as she claimed to have spotted Sheena in Kashmir. Nonetheless, CBI replied to her statement as mere imagination. 

Indrani Mukherjee has been recently released from the Byculla Women's Prison in Mumbai. She was under the custody for six and a half years for connection with the murder of Sheena Bora. Mukherjee was arrested by Mumbai police on 25th August, 2015.
