SIVASAGAR: As a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the COVID-19, the Temple Management Committee, Sivasagar, shut the doors of the Shiva Dol, Vishnu Dol, and Devi Dol for devotees from Saturday. Meanwhile, the Sivasagar district administration on Saturday ordered the closure of all shopping malls in the Sivasagar district in view of the Covid-19 threat. The order came into force with immediate effect till further notice.
On the other hand, the district administration closed down three hotels in after a raid on Friday.
The raid was conducted by Election Officer and Executive Magistrate, Sivasagar and other officials. Following the raid, Sivasagar District Magistrate vide No. SVAR/Hotel/68/2016/123, dated March 20, 2020, u/s 30(5),34(C) of Disaster Management Act, 2005 ordered to close Saraju Hotel, Rasraj Hotel and Ashirbad Family Restaurant & Bar.
Saraju Hotel at Dolmukh Chariali in Sivasagar town, which was found functioning in unhygienic and unsanitary conditions, was ordered to be shut down. Another hotel at Dolmukh Chariali in Sivasagar town, Rasraj Hotel was also closed. Ashirbad Family Restaurant & Bar, located at Moiramora gaon, Hahchara, which was found functioning with an unhygienic kitchen, was also closed.
Apart from unhygienic conditions in the kitchen, the personal hygienic of the employees was found very poor. Besides, the restaurant was found to be using domestic LPG cylinders for cooking instead of commercial cylinders.
