Show cause notice issued to Hirajuli tea estate

TEZPUR: Show cause notice has been issued to Hirajuli tea estate management by Dr Pradip Kumar Lahkar, Medical Inspector of Plantations, Tezpur. The show cause notice was issued to Hirajuli tea estate for not providing medical facilities to the tea garden workers as per the provisions of the plantations labor act and rules.

Officials sources said that Hirajuli tea estate belongs to Hirajuli Tea Company Pvt Limited under Dhekiajuli LAC in Sonitpur district. Hirajuli tea estate management allegedly failed to provide proper hospital, kitchen and sanitary arrangement in the garden hospital. Dr Lahkar urgud the tea garden management of Dhekiajuli area to extend cooperation in Covid vaccination and to follow Covid protocol as advised by the government. He also directed other tea garden management to appoint required number of medical and paramedical staff immediately.
