DHUBRI: State Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharyya laid the foundation stone of an administration building of Bhola Nath College and inaugurated the new building constructed under Ratriya Uchhatar Siksha Abihyan (RUSA) on Monday.
The minister was accorded a warm reception by the students and teachers led by NCC troupe of the college. Bhattacharyya laid the foundation stone of an academic building under RUSA ( Rastriya Ucchatar Siksha Abhiyan) 2.0 scheme to be constructed with an amount of Rs 1crore. He also inaugurated a newly-constructed video conference room and a gymnasium funded by RUSA under 2.0 scheme in college premises.
Speaking in the meeting held in the auditorium hall of the college, Bhattacharyya appreciated the result of the college since its inception. “It is praiseworthy how the teachers are relentlessly putting their effort in teaching, research and other curricular activities to improve the standard of education of this oldest institution,” Bhattacharyya said.
The Education Minister visited all the educational blocks of the college accompanied by Principal of Bhola Nath College, Dr. Dhruba Chakrabortty , Golokganj legislator, Ashwani Roy Sarkar, Bilasipara (East), legislator, Ashok Kumar Singhi and Dhubri Deputy Commissioner, Anant Lal Gyani.
Talking to The Sentinel, Principal of Bhola Nath College, Dr. Dhruba Chakrabortty informed that the newly-constructed buildings would be of great help for students and the administrative building to be constructed would solve the existing congestion in the college premises.
