SILCHAR: On a cloudy Friday morning, Silchar paid a unique tribute to Kishore Kumar on his 94th birthday as nearly 6000 participants sang two songs of the legendary singer. Students of various schools and members of cultural organisations assembled at the DSA ground and sang two songs, a Bengali and another Hindi, of Kishore Kumar. Organisers of the mega programme, Kishore Kumar Fans Club claimed that it was an all time record as for the first time nearly 6000 people participated to sing the songs of the late maestro. Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty, who was present all throughout the programme, said, Silchar has set a record with today’s mega programme.

Apart from the chorus in the morning, Kishore Kumar Fans Club organized a day-long programme to mark the 94th birthday of the legendary singer. Performers from Kolkata, Agartala, Haflong also took part in the programme.
