Silpi Divas observed at Jamugurihat

JAMUGURIHAT: Along with the rest of the State, the Silpi Divas was observed at Jamugurihat with a day-long programme on Sunday. The day-long programme was organized by the Sonitpur district committee of AxamXahityaXabha (AXX) in association with PaschimJamuguri branch of AXX, PaschimJamuguri Kala Parishad at Cheunichook village of Jamugurihat. The programme, which began with hoisting of the institutional flag in the morning was followed by various literary and cultural programmes. The open session was held at CheunichookNamghar with BasudevSarma, the district president of the literary body in the chair. The meeting began with a borgeet which was followed by a JyotiSangeet. ChadramaDevi, attended the occasion as a guest of honour and highlighted the works and contributions of RupkonworJyoti Prasad Agarwala. The PaschimJamuguri branch of AXX and Jamuguri Kala Parishad felicitated senior citizens of the locality including JurmonNath, LeelaNath and Akan Devi. A poetry circle was also organized in between the open session wherein known poets SadananDevnath, Boisakhi Devi, Karishma Devi, HiyaParasha Devi, Lipi Devi, ManjuriShivam read out poems. Educationist Dr. BiojayantaKeuot attended the programme as a distinguished speaker and highlighted the ideology and philosophy of Jyoti Prasad Agarwala. The programme was also attended by BipulNath, KaminiBaruah, Sahin Ahmed, DhrubaJyotiNath, BiswajitSaikia, PremKantaSaikia, HarenHazarika, Himanghsu R. Bhuyan along with others. DulalNath, the secretary of Sonitpur district committee of AXX briefed the objectives.
