Singer Debojit Borah conferred award at Demow

DEMOW: Along with rest of the State, in Demow also under the patronage of BrihattarAsomiya Yuba Mancha (BAYM), Demow Town Committee, and in association with the people of Demow, Silpi Divas was organized at Demow Public Hall (Jyoti-Bishnu Building) on Sunday.

According to the schedule, the programme started with cleanliness drive on Sunday. JadumoniKalita, president of BAYM Demow Town Committee, hoisted the flag of BAYM. After that the swahidtarpan was offered by Jaan Barua, chief secretary of BAYM Demow Town Committee. The ceremonial lamp was lit in front of the photo of RupkonwarJyoti Prasad Agrawalla by JadumoniKalita, president of BAYM Demow Town Committee.

The Jyoti Sangeet competition was organized in three categories. The dance competition on RupkonwarJyoti Prasad Agrawalla's songs was organized in two categories. In the evening, the open session was organized which was inaugurated by JadabGogoi, president BAYM Sivasagar District Committee. Popular singer Debojit Borah was awarded the DemowPran Silpi Award by BAYM Demow Town Committee at Demow Public Hall (Jyoti-Bishnu Building) on Sunday.

The award carries a phulamgamosa, a selengsadar, a citation, a memento and cash. BAYM Demow Town Committee felicitated the local media persons of Demow in the programme. The winners of the competitions were given prizes. Popular singer Milan Jyoti Mili performed in the cultural evening on Sunday.
